The fourth-generation Swift runs on a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It produces 81 horsepower and 112 Newton-meters of torque, slightly less than its predecessor which had a 4-cylinder engine generating 89 horsepower and 113 Newton-meters of torque. Weighing in at 920 kilograms, its power-to-weight ratio and torque-to-weight ratio stand at 88 horsepower per ton and 122 Newton-meters per ton, respectively, both noticeably lower than the previous model. Consequently, the new Swift isn’t as quick as the older version, offering a brisk performance at best.
